AI sales tools for fence companies
AI can't build fence. It can get a clean quote and drawing in front of the homeowner first, chase the bid you forgot, and show your reps what closes. Here are the real tools fence shops are looking at, what each does, and where each falls short.

Roofing, window, and solar companies have recorded in-home appointments for years. The fence version is simple: the rep records the walk and the kitchen table talk, AI writes the notes and scores it, the owner coaches off real conversations. If you have one salesperson and it's you, skip this lane for now.
AI sales coaching · in-person
Siro
What it does
Reps tap record on their phone at the kitchen table or the property line. Siro transcribes the appointment, scores it against your sales process, drafts follow-ups, and can push notes into a CRM. It records with no signal and uploads later, which matters on rural estimates.
Who it fits
Fence companies with two or more salespeople running in-home or on-site estimates, where the owner can't ride along on every appointment.
Where it helps sales
Shows you why bids die: the rep never asked about the dog, never walked the gate opening, never set the next step. You coach off real tape instead of gut feel.
Caveats
Recording laws differ by state. Some states require every party to agree, so ask the homeowner first, every time. It is coaching software, not a lead source. Pricing is quote-based. Vendor success numbers are the vendor's, not ours.
Same lane as Siro: record in-person appointments, AI summaries, and virtual ride-alongs so a manager can review or listen without driving out. Built around home improvement and remodel sales teams.
Who it fits
Bigger residential fence outfits with a sales manager and a real script. Overkill for a one-truck shop where the owner sells every job.
Where it helps sales
Lets the sales manager coach discovery and objection handling across the whole team, and spot what the top closer does differently.
Caveats
Same consent rules apply. Reps push back on being recorded until the feedback starts helping them. Ask for references from fence or exterior contractors, not just window and bath companies.
Fence drawings and estimating: Fence Cloud and the satellite crowd
This is where pen and paper costs the most. A hand ticket can't be duplicated as a vinyl alternate in ten seconds, can't be signed from a phone, and can't print a shop drawing for the crew.

Fence Cloud
What it does
Fence-specific estimating built by fence people. Enter the basics and it breaks out posts, fittings, gates, panels, and hardware for chain link, wood, vinyl, and ornamental. Supplier catalogs, shop drawings, gate cut sheets, contracts, e-signature, and a light CRM.
Who it fits
Shops that price a lot of chain link and ornamental, or do commercial and retail counter sales, where material takeoffs have to be exact.
Where it helps sales
A clean, itemized quote with a drawing goes out faster and looks more professional than a carbon-copy ticket. Alternate bids (wood vs vinyl) are quick to duplicate.
Caveats
Its strength is the material engine, not satellite drawing or AI. Plans are priced by user count; check the current pricing page. Expect setup time loading your own prices.
Type an address, parcel lines load on a satellite map, click the fence runs and gates, and it builds footage and a bill of materials. Includes an AI visualizer that renders a fence on the customer's yard photo and a 3D viewer. Has a free tier.
Who it fits
Residential shops that want to send a ballpark or firm quote before rolling a truck, and want something visual to show the homeowner.
Where it helps sales
Speed to first number. The shop that sends a clear drawing and price first often gets the site visit.
Caveats
Parcel lines from county data can be off by feet. Confirm on site before you order material or set a post near a line. Renders are a sales aid, not a promise.
Core platform pitched as free (optional paid services) with satellite layouts, material library, interactive proposals where the customer flips between styles and sees price change, CRM, scheduling, and AI that reads commercial plansets for fence scope.
Who it fits
Shops ready to move off paper all at once, and commercial estimators tired of hand counting fence scope in bid sets.
Where it helps sales
Interactive good, better, best proposals let the homeowner upsell themselves without a pushy rep.
Caveats
Newer company. Read the terms on what is free and what is metered. Check every AI takeoff against the plans; it flags assumptions for a reason.

Phones, follow-up, and job notes
Quoting · phone answering · follow-up
Fenceworks
What it does
Fence quoting software that measures from satellite, sends a sign-and-pay link, answers the phone and texts back, and chases open quotes with automations. Builds a crew packet from the signed quote.
Who it fits
Owner-operators who lose leads because they are on the auger when the phone rings.
Where it helps sales
Covers the two biggest leaks in a small shop: missed calls and quotes that never get a second touch.
Caveats
Test the phone answering yourself before you trust it with real leads. Make sure it hands off to a person fast on anything odd, angry, or safety related.
Field service · quote follow-ups · AI receptionist
Jobber
What it does
General home-service platform used across lawn, HVAC, plumbing, and fencing. Quotes, scheduling, invoicing, automatic quote follow-ups (up to two reminders on the standard automation), and an AI receptionist add-on that answers calls and texts.
Who it fits
Shops that do fence plus other outdoor work, or want a widely supported platform with lots of integrations.
Where it helps sales
The automatic quote follow-up alone fixes what most fence offices miss. Borrowed straight from the HVAC and lawn playbook.
Caveats
Not fence specific. No built-in fence material takeoff, so pair it with a calculator or estimating tool. Check which features need the higher plan.
Photo app for contractors. Photos are tagged to the job and address. Its AI Walkthrough Note turns a voice walk of the site plus photos into an editable document or checklist.
Who it fits
Every fence company. Photos are your proof on locates, grade, existing fence, and finished work.
Where it helps sales
Salesperson walks the line talking, and the office gets an organized scope with photos instead of a napkin sketch. Before and after photos sell the next job.
Caveats
AI notes need a read before they go to a customer. Decide who owns photo cleanup or the library turns into a junk drawer.
Name the leak first. Missed calls, slow quotes, no follow-up, or weak closers. Buy for one leak.
Run a two-week trial on real jobs. Five actual estimates, start to finish.
Load your own prices. A tool using somebody's average labor rate will underbid your rock digs.
Ask who owns the data and how you export customers, quotes, and photos if you leave.
Ask for a fence reference, not a roofing one.
Check consent rules before any call or appointment recording.
Nothing here is paid placement. If we add affiliate links later they will be labeled. See Disclosure. Spot something out of date? Email us and we fix it.
There isn't one best. Fence Cloud is strong on material takeoffs and shop drawings. Visual Fence Pro, Fenceline.ai, and Fenceworks lead with satellite drawing. Pick based on whether your bottleneck is takeoffs, drawings, or follow-up.
Is Siro worth it for a fence company?
It fits shops with multiple salespeople running in-person estimates. A one-person sales shop usually gets more from quote follow-up automation first.
Can AI estimate a fence job without a site visit?
Satellite tools can measure footage and build a material list. They can't see rock, buried lines, grade surprises, or neighbor disputes. Confirm on site before you order or dig.
