Jobber vs JobNimbus vs Fence-Specific Tools for Fence Shops (2026)
Software vendors publish best-fence-software roundups that rank themselves first. Here is an independent shop view: what Jobber and JobNimbus publish for fence work, where fence-specific tools still win, and how to pick without a fake scorecard.

The angle the vendor pages skip
Fence industry content from software vendors often stacks a comparison table and puts their own product on top. Fine for them. For a shop, the useful split is different:
- General field-service CRM (schedule, quote, invoice, text, payments) — Jobber is the published-price example.
- Contractor CRM with fence measuring — JobNimbus markets fence layouts on a satellite map inside its CRM.
- Fence-specific estimating / drawing — Fence Cloud, Visual Fence Pro, Fenceline.ai, Fenceworks, and similar: takeoffs, BOM, or visualize-before-truck.
Most shops need one source of truth for the schedule and customer, then optionally a fence takeoff/drawing tool beside it. Buying three overlapping CRMs is how you get double entry.

Jobber (generalist FSM)
Jobber is field service management used across many home-service trades, including fencing pages on their site. Strengths that matter to a fence office: online quotes, scheduling, client hub (approve / pay), automated quote and invoice follow-ups on higher plans, and optional AI receptionist add-on.
Published pricing (checked Oct 19, 2026 on getjobber.com/pricing): plans named Core, Connect, Grow, and Plus. Core is listed for 1 user; list monthly price shown as $49/mo with annual prepaid list at $29/mo after the promotional window on that page (page metadata also describes plans from about $29 to $529/mo billed annually depending on team size). Extra users are listed at $29/mo each. Card processing on Jobber Payments is listed around 2.9% + 30c (Tap to Pay and ACH rates differ on the same page). Promotional discounts on that page were marked ending October 30, 2026 PT for new customers — always re-check the live pricing page before you buy.
Fence gap: Jobber does not publish a fence material takeoff engine or fence-specific drawing tool. Shops still measure and price fence somewhere else (spreadsheet, supplier calculator, or a fence drawing/estimating product), then enter line items into Jobber.
JobNimbus (CRM + fence measuring)
JobNimbus markets an all-in-one fencing software page (jobnimbus.com/industries/fence-software, checked Oct 19, 2026): lead tracking, Boards for job status, invoicing/payments, Engage texting, review requests, and a mobile flow to draw fence runs on a satellite map, set height/post spacing, get post/section/gate counts and footage, and export a branded PDF under Measurements on the job.
Pricing: JobNimbus does not publish dollar amounts on that fence page (14-day trial, request pricing / start trial). Treat cost as quote-based until you see a written quote for your seat count.
Caveat: JobNimbus is widely used in roofing and exteriors; fence measuring is part of the pitch, but it is still a broad contractor CRM. Confirm material libraries, offline mobile behavior, and data export on a real fence job before you migrate the whole office.
Fence-specific tools (still the takeoff lane)
| Lane | Examples (public sites) | When they win |
|---|---|---|
| Material takeoff / shop drawings | Fence Cloud | Chain link, ornamental, gate cut sheets, supplier catalogs |
| Satellite drawing to BOM | Visual Fence Pro, Fenceline.ai, Fenceworks | Speed to a drawing before the truck rolls |
| Phone + quote chase | Fenceworks, Jobber add-ons | Missed calls and quiet estimates |

How to pick (no fake stars)
- Name the leak. Missed calls, slow takeoffs, no follow-up, or a messy CRM. Buy for one leak.
- One schedule of record. Jobber or JobNimbus (or another CRM) — not both.
- Pair, do not pile. CRM + one fence drawing/takeoff tool beats three half-used platforms.
- Trial on five real jobs. Same jobs you already measured by hand.
- Ask export and who owns photos. See the vendor checklist on AI Fence Pros → Software.
